The palette of this project is defined by the perfect balance of the two owners’ tastes: one of the two has a preference for blue and cool tones, while the other favors terracotta and warm colors. A mix that, on paper, seemed impossible, but when well calibrated, becomes highly interesting and dynamic. Black adds character to the entire composition and, distributed through slender and discreet elements, evokes the aesthetics of graphic design and comic books — two passions that perfectly reflect the imagination of the young clients.
Let’s now look at the design choices in detail.

Entrance

Before the renovation, the entrance was a closed and rather large space, which took away useful area from the adjacent room. The project involved its reduction and partial opening, transforming the adjacent space into the new living room. The entrance thus assumes the role of a filter: a visually defined space yet in continuity with the living area. The use of a dropped ceiling and bold color further defines the environment and gives it the desired vibrancy.

Living room

The desk, small and lightweight, fits perfectly thanks to a custom design that anchors the entire entryway coat and bookshelf system. Strategically placed, it accompanies the transition from the entrance to the living room, also guiding the view toward the kitchen area.

The living room is dominated by a large sofa area, oriented both toward the entrance and a custom-designed TV wall unit. The structure is composed of steel rods, laminated wood shelves, oak veneer-covered volumes, and an essential base that hides complex technical solutions: it houses numerous cables, offers ample storage space, and, thanks to an integrated backsplash, completely hides the TV connections.

Separating the living room and kitchen, a glass door amplifies the depth of the spaces and enhances the chromatic interplay between different areas.

Kitchen

The kitchen is functional, spacious, and flooded with natural light. The cooking area is laid out in a linear composition in an aviator blue tone, enhanced by a two-tone geometric decorative tile that brings out its character.

At the far end, aligned with the glass door and the table’s head, is an essential yet dynamic composition: floating base units framed by an orange wall paint that defines the background, warms the environment, and highlights artworks and pieces chosen by the clients.

The ceiling height allowed us to play with volumes: the light gray painted ceiling visually lowers the height and lends the entire space a sense of intimacy and coziness.

Main bathroom

An anteroom serving two bathrooms: a smart and impactful space-saving solution, made even more effective by the inclusion of a glass door. This choice allows natural light to reach a space that would otherwise be without it.

A distinctive feature of the space is the tile with a lively pattern full of chromatic and geometric variations, used both in the anteroom and, for visual continuity, inside the main bathroom’s shower. A compact, recessed and very capacious cabinet blends perfectly with the space thanks to the use of a wall-matching color, creating a refined total look effect.
In the main bathroom, the rest of the space is characterized by light-colored paint, a choice that further enhances the shower decor and contributes to a balanced and harmonious atmosphere.

Second bathroom

Small, practical, and lively, this space was also carefully designed down to the details, despite its simplicity. The walls feature a light tone, while the furnishings remain neutral and discreet. A touch of personality appears in the shower, where a tile in an intense navy color adds depth and gives the room a relaxing and refined atmosphere.

Bedrooms

In the bedrooms, paint plays a leading role: it directs the gaze, frames different areas precisely, and contributes to the dynamism and identity of the spaces. Color choices are also carefully calibrated: in the master bedroom, light tones prevail, enhancing colorful lamps and patterned bed textiles; in the study area, a warm and enveloping orange creates a stimulating and welcoming atmosphere.
